It was working at least at the beginning of May this year. But I would not recommend it anyway...
(Translated by Google) Takeaway only, but it is absolutely worth it since it was then practically the only one to farlonin cada (Original) Solo asporto, ma ne vale assoltamente la pena essendo poi rimasto praticamente l'unico a farlonin cada
Wow what an ice cream, real flavors and made with natural ingredients. Not the usual ice cream but totally worth it. Try the ginger flavor, it’s amazing. Bravo 👏🏻
Wonderful gelato, very friendly!
Very yummy love the Gelato
Awful service! We have been offended by the owner! We asked to taste 1 flavour and he denied. Then while we were deciding he said in a rude way “come tomorrow” then he turned his back. While we were leaving he said at high volume and in Italian “fu*k you all vegans”.
Went here to try and get an ice cream as Simeón recommended this place - DONT! When I tried to pay for my ice cream with 50 Euro the guy not o my said he would not accept it but when I left cause I had no smaller bill he insulted me. Simply rude! Don’t support this kind of behaviors by going here!
Absolutely delicious gelato! The flavours are unusual (in a good way) and not too sweet. We got the pistachio and ginger. Both were fantastic. Other flavours included celery, turmeric, lemon, banana, choc-chip, salad and orange, tiramisu and many more.
Very good gelato
The place has creative flavors, I.e. salad, ginger, but the gelato is more watery and less rich than what we come to expect in top gelaterias. Overall a decent but ordinary shop given Italian standards.
Came on a recommendation but it was hard finishing it, especially the mango one, I should have suspected as the color was so unusual, but I couldn try it so I decided to buy and try. Wouldnt do it again, regret having gone in the first place, it was the only bad gelato I had in italy
I came here to put a solid 5/5 but stopped in awe reading the comments. I could never understand why people want to taste ice cream before buying, since one never tries their cuttlefish or squid or lobster soup or whatever before they order a dish in a restaurant (and it's far from costing €1.5 for a scoop). That's probably why fast food chains are so popular – simply because people want the same and predictable taste all the time?... 'No sample' is a very understandable policy, especially in Venice, with all these millions of tourists. If you are personally afraid of ginger ice cream please go somewhere else. I had the most delicious ice cream in my life – with the taste of sea water, and I hope to remember this taste for the next 10 years of my life at least. It was something extremely unique. So thanks Alaska
Very different flavors. Try Rose or any...they are all very good and they all come with a big smile from the vendor!
Unusual, vegan and absolutely delicious flavours such as celery, ginger, cinnamon and turmeric! Traditional ones available as well... I didn’t betray my favourite flavour, coconut, and matched it with cinnamon and turmeric. Highly recommended!
Natural ice cream, very tasty
Real, authentic, homemade gelato with high quality local ingredients. A must if you're in Venice and care about local quality goods
Fist day,good ice cream
Had a simple cone here, pear flavour, really delicious, reminded me of the tinned pears I used to have as a kid (in a good way). Very friendly owner. Worth seeking out. Cafe nearby with €2 caffe americanos (served at table).
Best gelato in venice. A whole array of flavours to suit every palate!
Loved the gelato here, got the unusual ginger flavour and it was exactly as you'd expect 👌
All natural ice cream 😍❄️
After finding this gelato shop online with a superb recommendation; I was disappointed. The tiramisu lacked it’s typical bold flavor. While many of the flavors were intriguing by name, there are plenty of other tasty shops in Venice to satisfy your gelato cravings. Cute napkins.
Don’t be fooled by the “fake” gelato around Venice, this is the real stuff.
Excellent customer service and the gelato is amazing. We not only had one but we came back for more as there are so many nice flavours. My favourites were cinnamon, coconut, banana and the yummy turmeric. We so had the lemon slush and it was delicious too.
We waited all through Italy to have gelato here and we weren't disappointed. Yummy flavours at reasonable prices. Very friendly owner gave me unexpected extra on mine. Celery flavoured ice cream! Yek!!, but it made my husband laugh a LOT. He knows I hate celery. He scored a little pomegranate top on his one. Lucky him.
Good prices for gelato in Venice but my gelato tasted like it has artificial sugar in it. I got the rocket salad gelato (yes, literally salad in gelato) and I would not recommend it!
Although this place is highly recommended in many tour guides, the quality of the ice cream is average at best. Also, the friendliness of the owner doesn't really score a point here.
We went here on a recommendation from a guide. It says that Alaska is widely known and very popular. We found the ice cream ... average.
Kindness and excellent quality ingredients!
Not very good, it had some crystalized water in the ice cream. Taste was so-so, not very tastful, not bad either. Flavours aren't different from other places (although Lonely Planet says they are). Would recommend going to another ice cream place, others nearby are much better.
My stars are all for the service. The gentleman who served us was sweet. The quality of the gelato, on the other hand, left something to be desired. I don't know where all the raves are coming from but I suspect standards are lower in Venezia. We found all of the gelato here to be subpar. Save your gelato eating for Firenze and Bologna and, well, everywhere else in N. Italy.
Really nice selection of unique flavors. Would recommend the saffron gelato! The prices were really reasonable. Some of the best gelato I had in Italy.
After 30+ gelato servings in 4 Italian cities, only one was actually unpleasant. Most of it ended up in the trash.I went with rose, basil, and strawberry. The basil didn't taste right, instead reminding me of lime. The strawberry had a faint, dull flavor and gummy texture, unlike the fresh, fragrant strawberry variants I had elsewhere. Rose tasted good and is the only flavor I mostly finished.
Unbelievable gelato - made on premises with all fresh & seasonal ingredients. Especially loved the turmeric and orange & rocket flavours, but the more mainstream chocolate, pistachio, lemon etc are brilliant as well. Worth going out of your way for this experience!!
Beautiful icecream, incredible fresh fruit slushy drinks topped with fresh herbs, finished with friendly knowledgeable service. A must do.
Delicious gelato off the beaten path. Has been in business since 1928. Friendly staff
Inside this shop operates the inarguable Gelato “King in the North”. Absolutely home made “artigianale” by the owner, a charming gentleman who serves it himself. Ask for your favorite flavor (rose is a great one) and if he doesn’t have it that then he’ll try to make it within a few days. If you like your gelato on the very very cold side, this isn’t for you - but it is the traditional, artigianale kind everyone asks for. No, they don’t offer tastes.
Wow wow, amazing the best ice cream in Venice if not italy, with locally and organic sourced ingredients, we really enjoyed the unusual Celery ice cream matched with roasted pistachio, Ginger ice cream also delicious as was our Liquorice and Saffron alk wrapped up with a friendly chatty owner
Bland muted flavors. Hazelnut was at melting point and dripping like crazy seconds after I received it. Lots of ice crystals mixed into the ice cream. Poorly made. Poor quality. Go to Morano for the best gelato.
I had a positive experience here and the owner was perfectly kind. Calibrate your expectations--if you don't expect a free taste, and know this is a different style of gelato, then it's great! I tried strawberry and orange/arugula and both were fresh, subtle flavors. It does melt fast!
We both took single flavor scones and absolutely loved it! It truly captured the essence of each fruits or flavors. We will definitely come back before on our next day here in Venezia!
One of the few real home-made gelatos in Venice. Unique and creative flavors. The colors and flavors may not be as intense as in other stores because artificial colors and flavors are sparsely used.
Good ice cream but the ananas flavour was only okay and I dropped my hazel cocoa on my white skirt...
Try the basil and turmeric, they're both amazing!
It's magic and it's true there are one of the best gelateria. Worthy every euro.
Really nice Ice Cream at a reasonable price.
Not as nice as other gelato place. I know there have been some great reviews, unfortunately for me, it's not the best gelato. Some flavours are a bit too funky and does not taste like natural flavours, taste like artificial flavouring has been added.
Horrible owner. I asked for a sample and he refused. When I walked out, he came out hurling insults. The place did have some unusual flavors (like ginger, turmeric and rose). But I wasn’t about to buy a cup of anything unusual without trying. I would not visit this place. Go to San Giacomo dell’Orio instead.
Went following reviews. Have to say the ice creams were the most underwhelming of all we have had. It was late night. Tried the pistachio, cafe cocoa and mint. They had ice bits in and all taste was super bland. Service was good.
Friendly service, and delicious homemade gelato. They had a wide selection of flavors, outside of the typical found in Venice. I had ginger and cinnamon. The ginger was mildly spicy and very smooth. The cinnamon was so delicous- tasted like horchata which is my favorite!! They don't offer samples. Google says they close at 7, but we got gelato at 830pm and the owner told us he is open till 10pm.
The best ice cream I've ever had - found this place thanks to Richard Ayoade's Travel Man and they serve truly the best ice cream in Venice and a lot of different flavours! It looks far out on the map and it's quite hidden in an area that isn't full of tourists. The owners are really nice, it's not overpriced and you will seriously not regret the (only) 20 minute walk from San Marco!
Great and unusual flavors. My tasted really good small and cozy .perfect for a warm day walking around beautiful Venice.
